Curwensville is 0-9 against West Branch since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Golden Tide will face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Branch will be up against a hot Curwensville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Golden Tide put the hurt on Mount Union with a sharp 13-3 win on Wednesday.

Kylah Wos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Briah Peoples was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Hainsey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Curwensville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, while West Branch put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Williamsburg. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Blue Pirates. The Warriors have beaten the Blue Pirates the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Pirates has come to flipping the script.
Isabella Nelson was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lindsey Bainey was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Layla Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Curwensville pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Branch, their record is now 11-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Curwensville hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like West Branch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Curwensville came up short against West Branch in their previous meeting back in April, falling 3-0. Can the Golden Tide avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
