After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pulaski County, South Laurel was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Southwestern Warriors with a sharp 43-20 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

South Laurel's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.6 points over those games. As for Southwestern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. South Laurel is set to face off against their familiar foe North Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cardinals 13.8, the Jaguars 14) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Southwestern will square off against rival Pulaski County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
