After a string of five wins, Don Bosco's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They fell 9-4 to the St. Mary's Hawks. The Dons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in June of 2023.

Don Bosco's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for St. Mary's, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

Don Bosco and St. Mary's should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Dons will face off against Dunkerton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (99 vs. 314). Meanwhile, St. Mary's (ranked 22nd) will meet George-Little Rock (ranked 235th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
