Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail six more threes than your opponent, a fact Aberdeen proved on Saturday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 55-54 win over Raymond.
Aberdeen relied on the efforts of Charlie Ancich, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds, and Manny Garcia, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ancich has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Garcia, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Centralia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. The match between Centralia and Black Hills wasn't particularly close, with Centralia falling 51-36.
Aberdeen's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Centralia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
Aberdeen didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Centralia when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aberdeen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
