The Pelion Panthers fell victim to the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 62-0 loss at the hands of the War Eagles. While losing is never fun, Pelion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked 11th).
Caleb Ford had a dynamite game for Gray Collegiate Academy, rushing for 151 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Jamarious Lockett did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pelion has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 12-3.
Pelion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gray Collegiate Academy will face off against Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
