The Andrew Jackson Tigers will face off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrew Jackson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight losses, while Wolfson will come in with four straight wins.
Last Thursday, Andrew Jackson came up short against Sandalwood and fell 10-6.
Andrew Jackson saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taelor Chambliss, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Sydney Huggins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Chambliss wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Andrew Jackson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. This was only their second loss (out of six games) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Wolfson got the win against Eagle's View on Monday by a conclusive 23-1. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 15 runs or more this season.
Addison Booher made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one hit in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Wolfson got a massive performance out of Dylan Hetrick, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Isabel Nieves was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Wolfson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Andrew Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Andrew Jackson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Wolfson struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Andrew Jackson might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Wolfson when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Andrew Jackson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
