The Greenback Cherokees's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Tellico Plains on the road and fell 65-20. Greenback has struggled against Tellico Plains recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Greenback saw an underclassman step up: Elizabeth Davis scored 10 points. The game was Davis' third in a row with at least ten points.
Greenback bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Tellico Plains, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenback will take on Rockwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tellico Plains, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. Sequoyah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Tellico Plains is ranked 124th).
