Amboy is 1-9 against Forreston since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Amboy will head out on the road to take on Forreston at 4:30 p.m. Amboy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Amboy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Oregon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Amboy's pitcher stepped up to hand Oregon a 10-0 shutout on Monday. While the Clippers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Carson Barlow made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Barlow wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Leffelman, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Forreston made easy work of Genoa-Kingston on Monday and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Cogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Mickey Probst, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Kendall Erdmann was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Forreston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Amboy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Forreston, their record now sits at 5-2.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Amboy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. However, it's not like Forreston struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Amboy suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Forreston when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Amboy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
