The San Carlos Braves had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 victory over Arete Prep on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
San Carlos was led to victory by Leandro Simbolo and Leshawn Browning. Simbolo scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Browning scored 26 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Simbolo has scored at least a third of San Carlos' points. Another player making a difference was Talen Pechuli, who scored seven points along with four steals.
San Carlos' win bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Arete Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Carlos' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Miami at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Miami is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Arete Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Gilbert Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. Gilbert Classical Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
