After flying high against the Leechburg Blue Devils last Tuesday, the Riverview Raiders came back down to earth. Riverview's rough 75-54 defeat to Jeannette on Friday might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Riverview of the 72-39 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Jeannette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayce Powell led the charge by scoring 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Markus McGowan, who scored 17 points.
Riverview dropped their record down to 7-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Jeannette, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Riverview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jeannette, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Monessen at 7:30 p.m. Monessen is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
