She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in batting average. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI.
In other batting news, Horizon got a massive performance out of Tessa Munsch, who scored four runs while going 2-for-3. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Horizon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Longmont struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Erie had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. They put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 14-4 win. 14 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Sophee Horovitz looked comfortable as she tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Lyric DeLozier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Young, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Horizon's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Erie, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
