Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Danville). They never let the Peoria Lions get on the board and left with  a   21-0  victory  on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Deana Linares was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That  stolen base was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Payton Beith was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kealee Alyea, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with four  runs.
 Danville  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Danville's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-8. As for Peoria,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Danville is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Normal Community  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Peoria will  square off against  rival Peoria Notre Dame  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
