Arvada fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 57-50 win over the Alameda Pirates on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.
Arvada got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tre Kent out in front who posted 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ozias Garrett, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards.
Despite the defeat, Alameda saw an underclassman step up: freshman Eduardo Cantillo dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Cantillo has posted since back in January. Dominic Huerta was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 14 points.
Arvada's record now sits at 5-18. As for Alameda, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's still a better percentage than their 5-17 record this season.
As of now, neither Arvada nor Alameda have any future games scheduled.
