GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. - The defense did their part on the scoring end for for
Grain Valley (Mo.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Eagles beat
Smith-Cotton (Sedalia, Mo.) 37-14.
After taking the lead on a
Kellen Holland touchdown run in the first quarter, the Eagles were up 30-7 at the half.
Grain Valley's standout player in the win was Holland. He threw two touchdowns.
The defeat comes as a step back for Smith-Cotton, who notched a 39-0 victory over Orchard Farm in its previous outing. With the win GV extended its winning streak to three games.
