Ryleigh Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on zero hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lilliana Hill, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Rodgers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, while Lafayette put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Bryan Station. The Generals came out on top against the Defenders by a score of 5-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Not much got past Rylan Music, who gave up just seven hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Bryan Station off the board.
At the plate, Anna Clay Denton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aarilyn Waletich-Silverio, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lafayette pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery County, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Montgomery County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lafayette struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Montgomery County was able to grind out a solid victory over Lafayette when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 12-8. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
