Monument Valley have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Thursday. It's a road trip for them as they take on Dove Creek at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Monument Valley, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Monument Valley came into their this week averaging 30 points per game, but Monument Valley fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were given a punishing 6-45 defeat at the hands of Gallup. This makes it the second loss in a row for Monument Valley.
Meanwhile, Dove Creek put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Del Norte as the team secured a 62-26 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-20.
Dove Creek's victory lifted them to 4-2 while Monument Valley's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. In their victory, Dove Creek relied heavily on sophomore Gauge Thompson, who rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. Monument Valley will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
