After only one  run in their last  contest, Wilmington made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Clifton Central  on Saturday. Wilmington put the hurt on Clifton Central with a sharp  11-2 win. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Dierks Geiss made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. What's more,  he gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest he's  had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  RBI. Those  stolen bases were  his first of the season.
 In other pitching news,  Drew Jackson looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest  earned runs  he has allowed since back in May of 2024.
 Back at the plate,  Ryan Kettman was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kyle Farrell, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Wilmington's record now sits at 2-4. As for Clifton Central, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Wilmington will host Reed-Custer  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Clifton Central, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Watseka  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Clifton Central is facing Watseka at the right time seeing as Watseka is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
