Baseball Recap: Bolton Comes Up Short

Bolton lost against Overton back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 11-10. Even though they lost, the Wildcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Kaden Hubbard was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kevin Webb, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Bolton's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Overton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3-1.

Coming up, Bolton will head out to take on Kingsbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.3 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Overton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Memphis Central at 4:30 p.m. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight.
