Baseball Recap: Mayo Drops Season-High Score on Century

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mayo). They blew past the Century Panthers 14-4 on Thursday. Considering the Spartans have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mayo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Century, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mayo is set to take on their familiar foe Albert Lea at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Century will challenge rival Red Wing at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
