It was a good run, but The Glenbrook Apaches unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 38-28 to Homer. Glenbrook was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Homer apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Glenbrook had strong showings from Landry Powell, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns, and Chase Sentell, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Homer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jermaurion Pickens led the charge by rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Katrevrick Banks also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Glenbrook's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Homer, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Glenbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Homer will be playing in front of their home fans against Haynesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haynesville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 148 points over their last three matches.
