In what's become a running theme this season, the ITW David Speer Academy Pride gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 63-26 win over Comer on the road. With ITW David Speer Academy ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Miabella Collazo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with nine steals. Roshaunda Wilson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four blocks and two steals.
Despite the loss, Comer saw an underclassman step up: Ra'Quima Wilson scored 15 points. That was a full 57.7% of Comer's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
ITW David Speer Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Comer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ITW David Speer Academy will face off against Pritzker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pritzker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 540th, while ITW David Speer Academy is ranked 226th). As for Comer, they will head out on the road to face off against UIC College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. UIC College Prep is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
