The Lee Generals had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Eastside with a 55-49 win on Wednesday. This was payback for Lee, who suffered a 59-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lee found their leader in underclassman Konner Early, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Early has scored all season. Clay Robbins was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
Lee's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Eastside, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Lee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Honaker at 8:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Honaker presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lee in Virginia (Honaker is ranked 190th, while Lee is ranked 398th). Eastside will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Rye Cove on December 29, 2023. Rye Cove comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
