Auburn has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Boone Central Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Auburn beat Ogallala 36-32.
Maverick Binder was his usual excellent self, rushing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Binder hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nixon Ligouri, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Boone Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over Lakeview. The result was nothing new for Boone Central, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than PARKER BORER, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. BORER is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. JAMES FOGLEMAN was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and three touchdowns.
Auburn's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Boone Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Auburn has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 249.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Boone Central struggles in that department as they've been even better at 271.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
