St. Thomas Aquinas has won three straight games at home, while Chaminade-Madonna has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Raiders will welcome the Lions at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (St. Thomas Aquinas 13.6, Chaminade-Madonna 11.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
St. Thomas Aquinas is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: American Heritage, who was ranked 23rd at the time (St. Thomas Aquinas was ranked second). The Raiders came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 19-12 on Friday. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Raiders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 13 in total. All came from Johnny DiSalvatore: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points and added another on an extra point kick.
St. Thomas Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jaden Carey, Jemiyah Douglas, and Andre Jones picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Chaminade-Madonna got themselves on the board against Cardinal Gibbons on Friday, but Cardinal Gibbons never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 47-0 victory over the Chiefs. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Chaminade-Madonna found their leader in freshman Malik Leonard, who threw for 382 yards and four TDs while completing 78.3% of his passes. Tromon Isaac Jr. was Leonard's top target, picking up 113 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Chaminade-Madonna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chaminade-Madonna's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by RJ Alphonse and Trevoris Finley, who racked up four sacks between them. Finley is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
St. Thomas Aquinas' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. St. Thomas Aquinas has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 195.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Chaminade-Madonna struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 254.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
St. Thomas Aquinas came up short against Chaminade-Madonna in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 29-22. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
