The Bentworth Bearcats lost against the Frazier Commodores back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Bentworth falling 63-46. They were down 50-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Bentworth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Moessner, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Levi Urcho, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Bentworth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Frazier got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Alekson out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Alekson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Dailan Mcmanus was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bentworth and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Frazier, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Bentworth won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Cherry at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Fort Cherry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 614 points over their last nine contests. As for Frazier, they will head out on the road to take on Charleroi at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
