The Rudder Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Montgomery, falling 84-48. Rudder was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montgomery apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Rudder lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kethan Robinson. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Jaquise Martin was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Rudder dropped their record down to 14-18 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 14-19.
Rudder will be playing at home against Magnolia West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rudder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Montgomery, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully Montgomery likes a good challenge.
