It's playoff time, and Lake had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Richton Rebels on Friday as they made off with a 14-1 victory. Considering the Hornets have won 19 games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jd Gibson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Wes Nester was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Lake's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Richton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

Lake will have a chance to go back-to-back against Richton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
