The Cy-Fair Bobcats had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Spring Woods 63-17 on the road. The result was nothing new for Cy-Fair, who have now won six contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Cy-Fair was led to victory by Connor Porter and Trey Owens. Porter gained 127 total yards and four touchdowns, while Owens threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Owens is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played.
Cy-Fair's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Landon Rink and his two sacks.
Cy-Fair's victory was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Spring Woods, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Cy-Fair will be playing at home against Cypress Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. Cypress Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while Cy-Fair is ranked 238th). As for Spring Woods, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
