The Burgettstown Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Cherry Rangers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Burgettstown barely beat Frazier the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Commodores with a sharp 10-3 win on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Commodores recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Matthew Bredel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Burgettstown is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Burgettstown let Blake Neal and Jayden Roach run wild. Neal went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Roach went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Roach has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Speer, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Burgettstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fort Cherry ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-7 win over California.
Ryan Huey looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Colton Temple was excellent, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Ben Demascal also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Burgettstown's record now sits at 7-9. As for Fort Cherry, their record is now 15-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Burgettstown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fort Cherry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Burgettstown came up short against Fort Cherry in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 14-11. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
