The Williston Red Devils had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 58-13 victory over Lake Weir. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-7.
Williston was led to victory by Delecia Dallas and Kaelynn Brown. Dallas scored 12 points, while Brown scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Natreana Akanni , who scored 8 points.
Williston's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lake Weir, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williston will challenge North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Weir, they will head out on the road to face off against West Port at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Port has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
