Basketball Recap: Isaac Pratt Key Part of a Team Effort in Lobos Win

While Conifer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 57-48 victory over the Arrupe Jesuit Generals on Friday.

Conifer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Pratt led the charge by going 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The matchup was Pratt's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benson White, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Arrupe Jesuit had strong showings from Louie Garcia, who posted 16 points and six rebounds, and Xavier Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Mario Cabrera was another key player, putting up seven points.

Conifer's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Arrupe Jesuit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Conifer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-29 victory against Kennedy on the 21st. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-48 win against Skyview on the 21st.
