The Paramus Spartans will take on the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Paramus has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Paramus came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Don Bosco Prep, falling 12-2. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Ironmen recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Dwight Morrow can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 victory over Ridgefield Memorial. The Maroon Raiders' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.
Jaden Done made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Dwight Morrow's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't). Done was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since April 1st.
In other batting news, Dwight Morrow let Adonis Rosario and Angel Garcia run wild. Rosario got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Garcia got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Rosario a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Perez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Dwight Morrow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Paramus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Dwight Morrow, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
Paramus was able to grind out a solid victory over Dwight Morrow in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 13-8. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maroon Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
