The Union City Golden Tornadoes managed to keep up with the Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Union City suffered a rough 56-31 loss at the hands of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union City has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton Heights Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elivia Moore, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Tanah Becker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Union City and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Union City will be playing at home against Henry County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Henry County and Union City are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. Hamilton Heights Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Briarcrest Christian at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Briarcrest Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
