The Red Oak Hawks will square off against the Amarillo Sandies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Red Oak will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Red Oak walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Centennial 35-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Chris Martinez jr got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Taz Williams jr, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Amarillo can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Bel Air on the road. Given Amarillo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Bel Air is ranked 706th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Red Oak's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Amarillo, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.
