Woodland is 2-7 against Hiram since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Woodland has given up an average of 44.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Woodland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 49-35 fall against Allatoona on Friday. Even if the Wildcats couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Solomon James, who rushed for 210 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 94 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 112.8 rushing yards per game. Sam Ray Iv was another key player, having thrown for 344 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hiram got the win against Cedartown on Friday by a conclusive 37-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.
Hiram's win came from a few key players Woodland will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amari Lindley, who rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Those 123 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Maina, who rushed for 93 yards and one TD on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hiram was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hiram, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-4.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: James and Maina. James just won't slow down this season and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 112.8 rushing yards per game. Maina has been a dominant force too and has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 93 rushing yards per game.
Woodland was dealt a bruising 49-0 defeat at the hands of Hiram in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
