Basketball Recap: South Caldwell's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Caldwell won the last time they faced St. Stephens and things went their way on Saturday too. The South Caldwell Spartans were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over the St. Stephens Indians. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

St. Stephens lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Javian White, who posted 17 points. White's afternoon made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Noah Vanbeurden was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

The win (which was South Caldwell's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. As for St. Stephens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

South Caldwell and Hickory will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Caldwell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Hickory likes a good challenge. As for St. Stephens, they will take on Maiden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Stephens is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
