Basketball Recap: Green Level Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Green Level won the last time they faced Green Hope, and Claire Barber did her part to make sure it happened again. The Green Level Gators walked away with a 68-61 win over the Green Hope Falcons on Wednesday thanks in part to Barber, who almost dropped a double-double on 37 points and nine rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Anwita Ambalavanan was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Green Hope had strong showings from Abigail Brown, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards, and Chloe Lee, who posted 14 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. Brown is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Sisk, who put up ten points.

Green Level's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Green Hope, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Level will take on Cary at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Level is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Green Hope, they will challenge Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Green Hope surely won't give up without a fight.
