Evangel Christian (Alabaster, Ala.) defeated Tuscaloosa Christian (Cottondale, Ala.) 45-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Pete Sullivan touchdown run in the first quarter, the Lightning were up 38-0 at the half.
Evangel Christian grew its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. EC scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Webster.
Tuscaloosa Christian's lone touchdown came on a 71-yard pass from John Durant to David Pearce in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 43-30 win for the Alabaster school.
The defeat comes as a step back for Tuscaloosa Christian, who notched a 28-12 victory over South Haven Christian in its previous outing. With the win the Lightning extended their winning streak to four games. The loss snapped Tuscaloosa Christian's two-game winning streak.
