You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fountain Inn's strategy against the Mustangs on Friday. Fountain Inn put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 76-54 victory. Given Fountain Inn's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southside earned a 60-48 win over the Bears on Friday.
Fountain Inn's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-10. As for Southside, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Fountain Inn didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-61 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Southside's Angerrelle Gomes-Ramsey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds.
