Cherokee Trail is 0-10 against the Bruins since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Cherokee Trail Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Cherry Creek Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Cherokee Trail focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Cherokee Trail pushed their score all the way to 56, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Overland 61-56.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nathan Baack, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Steinbrinck, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, even though Smoky Hill scored an imposing 64 points on Friday, Cherry Creek still came out on top. Cherry Creek escaped with a win against the Buffaloes by the margin of a single free throw, 65-64. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cherry Creek.
Cherokee Trail has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Cherry Creek, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Cherokee Trail ended up a good deal behind the Bruins in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 70-55.
