The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Veterans Memorial Chargers at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Edcouch-Elsa has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Chargers will arrive with 16 straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Edcouch-Elsa came up short against the Redskins and fell 49-37.
Meanwhile, Veterans Memorial can now show off 21 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They really took it to Pace for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-12 win on the road. Given Veterans Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Vikings are ranked 1351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Edcouch-Elsa's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Veterans Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 25 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record this season.
Edcouch-Elsa was dealt a bruising 79-29 loss at the hands of the Chargers in their previous meeting back in January. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Edcouch-Elsa was down 50-17.
