The Damascus Hornets fell victim to the Walkersville Lions's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 42-0 to the Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Damascus has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Da'marques Ross had a dynamite game for Walkersville, rushing for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Ross really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Gearhart, who picked up 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Damascus' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Walkersville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Damascus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Walkersville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wilde Lake.
