Make it seven blowout wins for the Severance Silver Knights this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Fort Morgan 73-30 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Severance sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Severance got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Ewoniuk out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. Brady Varney was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Fort Morgan saw an underclassman step up: Jj Marquez scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Marquez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.
Severance is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Fort Morgan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Severance will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Skyline knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully the Silver Knights like a good challenge. As for Fort Morgan, they will head out on the road to square off against the Grizzlies at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northridge is on a six-game streak of home losses, the Mustangs an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
