After flying high against the Sandhills Valley Mavericks last Friday, the Paxton Tigers came back down to earth. The game between Paxton and Hershey wasn't particularly close, with Paxton falling 63-48. Paxton has not had much luck with Hershey recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Paxton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacelyn Jorgensen, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Jorgensen hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ella Fote, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Emma Hall, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Hershey. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Butterfield, who scored seven points along with five steals and four blocks.
Paxton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Hershey, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paxton will take on Sutherland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Paxton is coming into the game with three straight losses at home, meaning Sutherland will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Hershey will take on St. Patrick's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hershey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
