After each having a week off, the Blooming Grove Lions and the Trinity Leadership Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Blooming Grove put up the most points they have all season last Friday. They never let Inspired Vision get on the board and left with a 55-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lions' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Blooming Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Billy Thomas, who threw for 117 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing, and also rushed for 47 yards and one score. The Lions also got a significant boost from Gryason Baumgartner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Blooming Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Trinity Leadership entered their tilt with Gateway Charter Academy last Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They really took it to the Gators for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-0 victory. The Tigers pushed the score to 38-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators had no chance of recovering from.
Blooming Grove better keep an eye on Londen Cook. He was instrumental in Trinity Leadership's win, throwing for 232 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also punching in one TD on the ground. Cook's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Damian Demas was Cook's top target, picking up 103 receiving yards and one score.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Trinity Leadership's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Blooming Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Trinity Leadership, their record now sits at 4-2.
