Syracuse is a perfect 4-0 against Clearfield since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Titans will take on the Falcons in a tournament on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Syracuse turned things around against Davis on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Darts 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since May 9, 2025.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-95) Syracuse actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-18, 13-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Clearfield sidestepped Northridge for a 3-2 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Clearfield took Northridge into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21, 16-25, 23-25, 15-9.
Clearfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Syracuse, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-14.
Syracuse was able to grind out a solid victory over Clearfield in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-1. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
