Principals recap Oct. 30, 2012
Indian Valley extended the longest winning streak in Principals this week by beating Tuscarawas Valley, 35-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Triway took down Timken 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Parker Carmichael threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 11 yards in the win.
Manchester's dynamic duo of Nick Peyakov and Chad Robertson proved tough for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Peyakov threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns and Robertson had 213 yards receiving. Aaron Hoxworth helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching three balls for 29 yards.
Grant Iler made the biggest impact on defense this week as Tuslaw defeated Fairless. The 6-foot-2 senior racked up two sacks.
Jake Davis was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 35 carries, he ran for 189 yards as Indian Valley beat the Royals. Brady Byers also contributed to the rushing game with 84 yards on the ground.
5-foot-10 quarterback Carmichael of the Titans is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2745. He has also thrown 30 touchdowns. On the ground, Matt Lancaster's team's Davis has rushed for 1506 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Robertson. The Manchester star has 52 catches for 968 yards.
Manchester's Robertson is only 32 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Hawken.
In 179 carries Cody Brewer has accumulated 966 yard this year.
Jim France's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,675 from 5,019. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-23 victory over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy last week.
