Softball Recap: Kern Valley Finds Home Field Redemption Against Boron

There's no place like home for Kern Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Boron Bobcats on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Broncs, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Leenah Troller and Jade Montes did most of the damage at the plate: Troller went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Montes went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That triple marked the first that Troller hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Elliott, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Kern Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

With the victory, Kern Valley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Boron, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kern Valley will welcome Desert at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kern Valley will need to watch out since Desert has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Boron, they will challenge Mammoth at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
