Lake Country Lutheran is a perfect 10-0 against Living Word Lutheran since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lightning will host the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Lake Country Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Milwaukee Lutheran a 21-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Red Knights: they've now won seven in a row.
Ava Budnik made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lake Country Lutheran let Katelyn Meulendyke and Eden Mueller run wild. Meulendyke got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI, while Mueller got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Meulendyke a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kierstyn Black, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Lake Country Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Living Word Lutheran). They were the clear victors by a 22-7 margin over Cudahy on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Timberwolves.
The team relied heavily on Charity Mahlstedt, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. Lilly Dykema was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lake Country Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Living Word Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Everything went Lake Country Lutheran's way against Living Word Lutheran in their previous matchup back in April, as Lake Country Lutheran made off with a 21-6 victory.
