The Premont Cowboys lost against the Agua Dulce Longhorns back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Premont took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Agua Dulce. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Premont in their matchups with Agua Dulce: they've now lost three in a row.
Agua Dulce's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaylee Deaver led the charge by scoring nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Celest Garza, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Premont's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Agua Dulce, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
Premont will head out on the road to square off against La Villa at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Agua Dulce, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Freer at 6:00 p.m. Freer will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
